Care & Maintenance

Q: How should I take care of my OnTyte™ Stirrups?
A: OnTyte™ stirrups should only be cleaned by hand with warm water, a neutral soap and non-abrasive sponge. Note: Stirrups should never be disassembled, and they should not be placed or stored near sensitive electronic equipment, as they contain powerful magnets.

Q: How should I take care of my OnTyte™ Short Boots and Mini-Chaps?
A: Take care of your leather boots and mini-chaps to preserve their quality and keep them looking like new. Fine calfskin requires conditioning to avoid dryness and cracking. Some simple steps to follow:

  1. Remove dirt by cleaning with a damp cloth, then let dry.
  2. Apply a neutral-colored leather shoe cream/conditioner with a soft brush, and leave to penetrate for about 20 minutes
  3. Shine using a soft brush or cloth and your leather will look like new!

Q: How can I change the footpads on my OnTyte™ Stirrups?
A: One of the added benefits of using OnTyte™ stirrups is that our footpads rarely wear out due to less grinding and pressure of the foot on the stirrup. OnTyte™ stirrup footpads are specially designed for the magnetic system, and should never be removed; however, in the event that you do need to replace your footpads, contact us at info@ontyte.com for information on factory servicing.
