This week’s #OnTyte Golden Nuggets of Wisdom comes from Irish grand prix showjumper and trainer Shane Sweetnam. He’s had a super #WEF2016 and held top spots in the leaderboard all season. We wish him all the best this final week!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT ONTYTE?
I’ve been riding with ONTYTE for 5 years now. I used to move my legs a lot and would lose my stirrups often, and now I sit a lot quieter after riding so long with OnTyte. I don’t lose my stirrups anymore and I’ve also learned how to sit still, so I have to say OnTyte has definitely been a great help to me.
HOW HAS YOUR RIDING CHANGED WITH ONTYTE?
My leg position is a lot better and I am in control when jumping; I think ONTYTE has definitely been a factor in this.
WHAT IS YOUR BEST RIDING MEMORY?
When I jumped a double clear in the Aga Khan Cup in the Dublin Horse Show, one of the top shows in the world and the biggest one for an Irish rider, and so for me it was a really special moment.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THIS YEAR?
I have a good group of horses this year, and will go to Europe this summer and plan to represent Ireland in the Nation’s Cup, and also compete at the Dublin Horse Show again.
WHAT’S YOUR TOP TRAINING TIP?
Stick to the plan.
